Network quality and functional inference

Intra-Species PPIs

Assessment and use of protein interaction networks within organisms, with emphasis on M. tuberculosis H37Rv datasets.

Overview

Intra-Species PPIs

Intra-species protein interaction maps are valuable but variable in quality. This work evaluates benchmark consistency, precision, recall, and network properties so downstream biological inference rests on better-characterized evidence.

  • Compared major M. tuberculosis H37Rv PPI datasets against benchmark interactions.
  • Analyzed overlap, precision, recall, and network structure across predicted datasets.
  • Supported more careful use of PPI datasets in functional studies.
  • Connected interaction networks with pathway-level biological interpretation.
